David Williams

David Williams began his career working with young people at 17 years old, setting up a voluntary youth club that is still running 26 years later! David undertook his Youth and Community Work degree whilst working with Newport Youth Service before moving to Torfaen in 2003 into a leadership role. David has been involved in a range a youth work practices in a range of settings from detached and street based youth work in Pillgwenlly, international youth work projects in South Africa alongside numerous youth clubs and schools. David has been managing Torfaen Youth Service since 2016 and has national experience in strategic arenas through chairing the Principle Youth Officers Group and is a current member of the Education Workforce Council. David is a trustee on two community based charitable organisations who support marginalised and under-represented groups to access services and engage in a variety of education, social and emotional opportunities. David enjoys watching sport, going for walks and spending time with family and friends watching sport!
