Get Involved – Stakeholder Engagement

The National Academy for Educational Leadership is committed to amplifying the voice of leadership from within the education sector to enact positive change at policy level.

The National Academy for Educational Leadership has worked closely with key stakeholders from across the education system since its incorporation, primarily through its stakeholder reference group which was created in 2018. The Leadership Academy recognises the importance of effectively engaging with stakeholders in order to achieve its aspirations, and it aims to involve our stakeholders in every aspect of our work to stimulate new thinking and receive support and challenge from the education system as a whole.

Through effective Stakeholder Engagement, the National Academy for Educational Leadership aims to:

  • Develop understanding of the work of the National Academy for Educational Leadership and how we will work in partnership with stakeholders to create conditions in which educational leadership will thrive.
  • Initiate and build relationships with those interested and influential stakeholders who are not yet formally involved with work of the National Academy for Educational Leadership
  • Maintain and further develop relationships with stakeholders already engaged with the work of the National Academy for Educational Leadership and set out plans to engage those parts of the educational sector in Wales that are currently under-represented.
  • Give feedback to stakeholders following their involvement in consultations and activity of any type, outlining how their views have been considered.
  • Provide clear lines of communication for stakeholders to engage effectively with the National Academy for Educational Leadership
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of mechanisms for stakeholder engagement.

Stakeholder Reference Group

“It is a great pleasure and honour to be the Chair of the National Academy for Educational Leadership’s Stakeholder Reference Group. The group is a key part of the National Academy for Educational Leadership’s work and meets half-termly to discuss engagement activities, respond to consultations and to share opinions and recommendations with the team. There is a wide representation of a variety of sectors within the group and you can familiarise yourself with them through their photographs and biographies, click below to learn more. This ensures that the voice of each sector is heard and considered within the work of the group and the National Academy for Educational Leadership.

Stakeholder engagement is essential to the work of the National Academy for Educational Leadership to ensure that the leadership’s voice is heard throughout. If you would like to learn more about the work of the stakeholder reference group or get involved, contact a member of the team on post@agaa.cymru.”
