So far, in Siân’s career in the Welsh primary education sector, she has progressed from a classroom teacher, middle management, senior management to her current role as an Assistant Headteacher at Ysgol Nant y Groes in Colwyn Bay. She is now actively looking for her first headship.
As a senior leader, Siân has played a key part in leading schools through positive inspections, particularly focusing on improving the Foundation Phase. As a result, she was asked to write a case study for the Welsh Government on our successful parent engagement strategies.
Siân has actively collaborated with our regional consortia, sharing our school’s best practices in the Foundation Phase and our journey with the New Curriculum. Through network meetings and presentations, Sian has helped educators across North Wales enhance their provision and embrace innovation.
In her current position, Siân works closely with school stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and driving whole-school initiatives. She is dedicated to creating exceptional learning environments and empowering pupils and teachers alike.
Siân is proud of her accomplishments and remain committed to making a positive impact in Welsh education as she continues to grow and develop in her career.
In Siân’s personal life, she takes care of her three children and finds relaxation in exploring the Welsh countryside through walks and camping trips. These activities bring her joy and provide a much-needed balance to her busy life.
