Nicola Williams has been a Headteacher in the borough of Caerphilly for twenty years. She has been leading Libanus Primary in Blackwood for the past nine years. At Libanus, children’s well-being is at the centre of everything that is done, and the school has built its community, curriculum, and opportunity for pupil voice around the needs of their children. This was recognised when the school won School of the Year in 2023/24!
Nicola has been a School Improvement Partner for EAS and CSC, is an Estyn peer inspector, NAHT branch treasurer, a mentor for new heads, chair of the Blackwood Headteacher Cluster and has just completed five years as chair of the Primary Heads Forum, the voice of leadership in Caerphilly. Nicola believes that serving heads have a major role to play in developing the skilled leaders needed in Wales to implement the world class curriculum.
Nicola is married with a seventeen-year-old daughter who keeps her on her toes! They love family meals, walks and holidays and spoiling their 4-year-old cavapoo! Nicola’s favourite pastime is meeting friends and socialising!
