Mike Tate

Mike has been working in education in Wales for almost 35 years, 28 of them in a senior leader capacity. He set up and led the first formal federation of schools in the Upper Afan Valley, led and opened one of the first all through 3-16 schools on a new school campus and became the assistant director of education for Cardiff and led the schools in the authority through Covid.
Currently Mike is Headteacher in Cardiff West Community High school.
He is passionate about the impact that education can have on young people and improving the opportunities for those living in areas of disadvantage.
