Emma Turner is the headteacher of Springwood Primary school, a community focused school in the north of Cardiff. Emma has been headteacher there for the last 5 years and has a passion for inclusive practice and anti-racist education. As well as over 250 mainstream pupils from the immediate local area, the school has both an autism special resource base and a well-being provision that serves the whole of Cardiff currently with 40 specialist places.
Emma has worked in education for 23 years, spending the last 10 of those in leadership positions in both Cardiff and Newport. During this time she has led in a broad range of curriculum areas and expanded her knowledge and experience through being involved in working parties and steering groups for a range of associations including the leadership academy anti-racist steering group for the past year.
Emma is looking forward to the opportunities that being an associate will bring, but even more so, she values the chance to serve as a bridge and amplify the voices of educational leaders in Cardiff.
