Helal moved to Swansea in 1988 at the age of 9 and grew up Townhill.

He has been fortunate to have experience of working in different sectors including statutory, private and voluntary. He has experience working in a wide range of industries such as catering, vehicle mechanics, security, retail, sales, Youth Justice and the Department of Work and Pensions.

He is humbled and privileged to be part of a team that started EYST Wales in 2005, and is now a co-director at the organisation, a leading Black Asian Minority Ethnic organisation in Wales.

Helal’s love and passion is to make a better Wales and a better world. He enjoys all types of challenge and the benefit they bring. He feels blessed to be in his position and being able to serve the Black Asian Minority Ethnic communities and the people of Wales, and playing his part to make it a better society for all. Helal embraces people from all walks of life and the differences they have through diversity in knowledge, experience, tradition and culture and how these differences compliment each other and society.

Helal is motivated to better himself and everything around him. He is a believer that no one human has no superiority over other humans, except through piety, kindness and fighting injustice, inequality and poverty.
