These include programmes such as the National Master’s in Education (Wales) Leadership Pathway and a Master’s Education Programme in Singapore. He also delivers short courses on Sustainable Leadership in Education. Jeremy first started teaching in 1985 after graduating from Cyncoed College, Cardiff and worked in the secondary sector for nearly six years. After transferring to primary education, he quickly became acting deputy headteacher before moving on to become headteacher. During his career, Jeremy has worked as a Senior Officer for Special Education and Inclusion with Denbighshire County Council and went on to become the head of a large primary school with an attached special needs school. He has been involved in many strategic developmental projects including Pioneer Schools, Schools as Learning Organisations, Leadership Standards, Education Research and has worked with the OECD. Jeremy is currently a member of the NPQH development group, preparing the future programme.

Jeremy is a member of the first cohort of Associates and has been part of the Leadership Academy’s development since the beginning. He has represented the Leadership Academy at international events such as the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) conference in Morocco and Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in Toronto. He also contributed to Our Call to Action, with Associates in cohort 1. The Leadership Academy has provided Jeremy with many opportunities, and he is an active member of the newly formed Leadership Academy Federation.

“When you thoroughly enjoy what you do professionally it does not seem like work.”

To relax, Jeremy swims competitively both in indoor and open water events and enjoys learning how technology can improve his productiveness and effectiveness while working. A Golden Retriever dog ensures that Jeremy get plenty of fresh air on a regular basis.
