Tegwen Ellis, Chief Executive of the National Academy for Educational Leadership has been invited to become a National Affiliate of the newly established Centre for International Research into Leadership in Education (CIRLE) at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
CIRLE was launched on the 7 September 2023 and is a research centre which aims to establish strategic international links and research partnerships in order to drive research into educational leadership. CIRLE is linked with 20 partner universities across the world including Melbourne University, Sydney University, the University of Hong Kong, Northwestern University Chicago, National Institute of Education in Singapore and the University of Murcia in Spain.
CIRLE’s research focuses on a variety of themes:

It’s a privilege to join a community committed to advancing understanding and knowledge of leadership and I look forward to promoting connections beyond borders, amplifying the impact of research on a truly international scale.”
National Affiliates contribute to the improvement of the research base on leadership in education through international collaboration.
Professor Alma Harris said, “As a University Centre, CIRLE aims to lead research and development in the field of leadership in education through its strategic international links, research partnerships and specialist networks in order to generate new knowledge and scholarship around the broad theme of leadership in education. CIRLE is already recognised internationally for its research contribution within the field of leadership in education.
“CIRLE is connected to a dynamic international, intellectual community. It is engaged in high quality international collaborative research and hosts the international SCOPUS journal ‘School Leadership and Management’ (SLAM).
CIRLE’s international and National Affiliates are leaders in the field of leadership in education and through their work as researchers, policy makers and practitioners will bring important new insights to the work of the Centre.”
