Mike Cameron

Associate

Mike Cameron is the Deputy Headteacher at Tonyrefail Community School in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT), where, in collaboration with the Headteacher, opened RCT’s first English-medium All-through school in September 2018. He leads on Professional Learning and Development, Curriculum Design and line manages various teams across the 3-19 age phase.

Prior to working at Tonyrefail Community School Mike worked for the EAS regional consortium, where he held the position of Professional Learning Lead. He worked as Vice-chair for the Welsh Government Humanities’ Curriculum Development Group and currently sits on the Strategic Board for the Cardiff ITE partnership, of which Tonyrefail is a Lead School.

As a former PE teacher, his spare time his taken up playing football and golf, then watching all the sports he can. Aside from sports, to unwind he likes to walk his dog on the beach with his partner, cook and read as many books as time allows. He has two children, one at University in Cardiff studying Law and the other who works full-time at the Vale Resort in Hensol Park.
