Claire Rayner

Associate

Claire Rayner is the headteacher at a Welsh medium primary school, Ysgol Min y Ddol, in Cefn Mawr, Wrexham. Claire is passionate about ensuring provision that focuses primarily on health and well-being and considers a wide range of additional learning needs. Claire has previous experience of being an additional learning needs coordinator across three schools within the Ceiriog Valley Federation. Keeping the Welsh language alive motivates and inspires her to support a number of initiatives within the local authority that focus on improving linguistic provision.

Claire is chair of nine cluster schools which include both primary and secondary, and she represents them within the primary headteachers’ federation.

“As an Associate, I am very interested in receiving support from different leaders across Wales and equally happy to share and collaborate with others. I am a passionate, eager and innovative leader who accepts challenges and welcomes change. We all have an exciting time ahead of us with a large number of changes underway, so it is a special time to learn from each other.”

Claire has a loving, lively and fun little family and one of her favourite things to do is go home to her roots in Harlech and walk along the beach with the dogs!
