“Bridging Futures: Educational Leadership in Youth Work and Schools for the Curriculum for Wales”: Presents the challenges facing Youth Work and School Leaders in delivering the Curriculum for Wales, and provides a new insight into how combining formal, non-formal and informal educational approaches can improve outcomes for children and young people.

Join Professor Mike Seale and Emma Chivers (Youth Work Adviser) in conversation with colleagues from the education sector as they explore the issues surrounding leadership and the implementation the Curriculum for Wales. This is an opportunity to review and reflect upon the recommendations that can be utilised by all leaders in the education sector to improve outcomes for children and young people in Wales.

Professor Mike Seal has worked in the Youth and Community Work sector for over 35 years, and has experiences as a client, worker and manager, academic and researcher. He is currently a Professor at both St Mary’s University Twickenham and Birmingham City University focusing on critical and queer pedagogy to empower marginalised communities.

Emma Chivers is the Youth Work Advisor for the National Academy for Educational Leadership, and an independent consultant, researcher, specialising in Leadership, Youth Work and Young People.

Inspired by the Insight Series paper “Bridging Futures: Educational Leadership in Youth Work and Schools for the Curriculum for Wales”: Provides a unique insight into the challenges Youth Work and School leaders face in implementing the Curriculum for Wales, and how they can work collaboratively to overcome them.
