Associate Federation

The National Academy for Educational Leadership understands that effective system leadership is crucial to support the improvement of leadership development and influencing teaching and learning and can be a positive force for change. Our flagship Associate model supports the culture of system leadership and develops system leaders across Wales to influence others at different levels of the system.

During the first two years, the Associates of the National Academy for Educational Leadership follow a structured learning experience and contribute to a commission in an important area of work directly related to improving educational leadership. At the end of the two years, the Associates are offered the opportunity to join the Associate Federation to continue their affiliation with the National Academy for Educational Leadership.

The primary aim of the Associate Federation is to enhance the quality of educational leadership in Wales. This will be achieved through:

  • Expertise and Experience
  • Amplifying the Voice of Leadership
  • Collaboration and Networking
  • Knowledge Sharing and Research
  • Promoting professional standards

Meet the Associates

The members of the Associate Federation are practising educational leaders in Wales who have completed their funded two year system leadership experience with the National Academy for Educational Leadership. They play a key role in enabling a productive working relationship between the National Academy for Educational Leadership and the sector, representing the voice of leadership throughout the work of the organisation.
