Dr Sue Davies is Chair of the Leadership Academy board. Sue has been with the Leadership Academy since its inception in 2018 and is committed to the organisation, providing outstanding support to the team. She would like to see the Leadership Academy continue to expand its ‘reach’.
“As Chair of the Board, I have ‘watched’ things happen – I feel very privileged to have been given this role and will be honoured to continue as Chair for as long as I am needed.”
Sue is a former deputy headteacher and has worked in many areas of education including as an education officer for special educational needs (SEN), as a project co-ordinator for the Welsh Government and as a development officer for SEN in Wales. She has also been a member of several school governing bodies and provided governor training while working in the local authority.
In the higher education sector, Sue was previously head of an academic school and Assistant Dean of a large university faculty. Sue is a Director of Campus Associate LLP which offers strategic and operational planning in a range of activities. Her background in research allows her to contribute analytical skills and intellectual capacity on both strategic and practical issues. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Social Justice in 2013 in recognition of her work in the field of social justice and inclusion, and her commitment to equality and diversity.
Sue loves music and walking. She is also the proud mum of two grown up daughters and has a young grandson, who is an absolute delight.
