Paul Keane

Associate Federation

Paul Keane is headteacher of the federation of Blenheim Road Community and Coed Eva Primary School in Cwmbran. Paul is a partner challenge adviser for the Education Achievement Service (EAS) and is a mentor to newly appointed and acting headteachers across the local authority and the EAS.

Paul is part of the second cohort of Associates and has been involved in a variety of activities with the Leadership Academy. He has co-authored the commission report, What is the role of educational leadership in realising the vision of a Wales of vibrant culture and thriving Welsh language and facilitated professional learning sessions for senior leaders through the Leadership Unlocked webinar series.

Paul grew up in London and worked as a lawyer in the city after completing masters level degrees at Oxford and Cambridge. He began his career in education in a thriving inner-London community primary school, where he worked his way up from the role of teaching assistant to senior leadership through the graduate teacher programme. Before becoming the headteacher at his current schools, Paul was the headteacher of Willowtown Primary School in Ebbw Vale and had the privilege of leading his team of highly dedicated teachers and senior leaders on a rapid school improvement journey, placing the school right at the heart of the local community.
