A Well-being Entitlement for Educational Leaders in Wales

This enquiry undertaken by Associates of the National Academy for Educational Leadership addresses the urgent need to improve the well-being of educational leaders across Wales. The  research highlights the moral imperative to prioritise the well-being of leaders at all levels of the Welsh education system. The findings reflect the lived experiences of leaders who shared their perspectives on the challenges they face, including those conducting the research. This report aims to amplify their voices and call attention to the pressing issues affecting school leaders today.

This report outlines actionable, ambitious, and solution-focused recommendations to guide Wales towards a national approach to supporting leader well-being, with the hope of stimulating meaningful discussion and prompt action across the education system.
