Gethin Sutton

Gethin’s teaching career began 30 years ago in Pen y Dre High School and has spanned mainstream secondary schools and special schools in Merthyr Tydfil, Cardiff and Swansea. Gethin has 26 years of school leadership experience the last 22 of which have been at a senior level.

For the last nine years Gethin has been the headteacher at Ysgol Pen y Bryn a large 3-19 special school in Swansea. He currently combines this role with work as a commissioned secondary School Improvement Advisor (SIA) for Swansea Local Authority / Partneriaeth Regional Consortium.

Gethin is a member of a number of formal national, regional and local networks and professional groups and a larger number of informal partnerships. He is the chair of Swansea Budget Forum and the Partneriaeth Special Schools Headteacher Network.
