Rosemary Jones OBE

Vice Chair

Rosemary Jones OBE is an educational consultant with 20 years of leadership experience in Welsh and English medium schools. She was a headteacher of a secondary school in Flintshire from 2006 to 2018, during which time the school was judged to be ‘excellent’ in terms of standards and capacity to improve. As an education consultant she advises on school leadership in a range of contexts, including local authority, regional consortia and Welsh Government level. She was awarded an OBE in 2017 for her ‘services to education’.

After graduating with a degree in architecture from University College, London, Rosemary trained as a teacher of Environmental Studies. She grew up in London and relocated to North Wales in 1984. She has taught in primary, middle and secondary schools in London and North East Wales before moving on to senior leadership roles. She has a Masters degree in education from the University of Bangor and holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship.

Rosemary’s aspirations for the Leadership Academy are for the organisation to develop its reach, to engage with a wider range of leaders in the education sector and to continue to support the well-being of school leaders.

Rosemary is passionate about learning and creating positive experiences to increase learners’ confidence and raise aspirations.
