Roger Guy
Roger Guy is headteacher of Gilwern Primary School in Abergavenny. He has experience as a Challenge Advisor for the Education Achievement Service and as an Estyn Peer Inspector. He established the Monmouthshire Association of Primary Schools and is a governor of Monmouthshire Pupil Referral Unit.
Roger is an Associate in the second cohort and has contributed to the commission report exploring the Welsh language and culture. He has also facilitated learning experiences for cohort 3 and participated in endorsement panels. Roger became an Associates for the opportunity to receive world class professional development from leading experts.
Roger has been married for 33 years and his wife, Deb is a headteacher in Newport. He is a keen sportsman and coaches at Usk RFC. Roger’s family has a passion for travelling and have explored many corners of the world through sailing, cycling and walking.
