Sue Roberts is headteacher of Ysgol Ffordd Dyffryn in Conwy. Most recently she has been seconded to the Leadership Academy as Leadership Development and Quality Assurance Adviser for Schools.

Sue has a wealth of experience and has undertaken roles such as NPQH Leadership Coach, PRU Leadership Advisor, Cluster Lead and Estyn Peer Inspector. Sue is passionate about inclusion and her current school has a Foundation Phase Resource Base for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as a KS2 Resource Base for pupils with ASD.

Sue has been part of the development of the Leadership Academy from the very beginning as an Associate in cohort 1. She has helped forge links with colleagues in Ireland and Scotland through the Tri-Nation Consortium and facilitated professional learning opportunities for leaders across Wales through the Leadership Unlocked webinar series.

As a secondee, Sue leads on the Endorsement and Quality Assurance process and supports activities around Innovation and Well-being. Sue’s aspirations for the future of the Leadership Academy are to facilitate the creation of a pan-Wales approach to the care, support and well-being of all school leaders, and the continued development of professional learning opportunities through the Innovation Workshops and Leadership Unlocked series.

Sue is married with two grown up sons. She lives in Llandudno and despite not being brought up in Wales, she is a Welsh speaker and is enthusiastic about promoting the Welsh language and culture. She has a passion for travel and has been lucky enough to explore many different places around the world. She particularly enjoyed trekking in the Himalayas, an opportunity she had when visiting Jalashwary School in Nepal.
