Michelle Kerswell is the Curriculum Manager at Adult Learning Wales, a post-16, pan-Wales adult learning provider. She leads on the community, work-place and project provision across the organisation and is also the strategic lead for teaching and learning. Michelle began her career in education at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and has over 20 years’ experience of working within the post-16 sectors, having worked within Further Education, Work-based Learning and Adult Community Learning.
Throughout her career, Michelle has been a passionate advocate of the adult community learning sector and plays an active role in ensuring that the sector and its learners has a place and a voice within post-16 education. She has been instrumental in the development of ‘Citizens’ Curriculum’ pilots across Wales, working closely with the Learning and Work Institute and Welsh Government. She sits on the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Post-16 Strategic Board, the Adult Community Learning Partnerships Network and is a member of the Learning and Work Institute Wales’ Strategic Group.
Michelle is a keen yogi and enjoys spending time walking and exploring the many forests, lakes and mountains of North Wales, where she lives with her husband. She has two daughters, one step-son, one step-daughter and a dog, who keep her busy, active and on her toes!
